Meet our Trainees
Michael K. Dakwa
Michael K. Dakwa joined Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology (MEST) Class of 2010 with a professional background and bachelor's degree in Building Technology. His most recent job in construction was as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor for Royalhouse QS Associates - a management consulting firm. Key duties included: preparing bills of quantities, assessing amount of work done by contractors, preparing payment certificates on behalf of contractors, and preparing reports for clients on progress of work. Additionally, he has worked as a freelance front-end web developer since 2006 and has extensive self-taught knowledge of CSS, HTML, and JavaScript. At MEST, he intends to develop additional knowledge in back-end web development and programming for mobile technology. In the near future, he anticipates creating a blog to share his ideas with the world.
Daisy Baffoe
Daisy is an aspiring global software entrepreneur currently Training at MEST in Accra, Ghana. Daisy holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Information Studies from the University of Ghana with a concentration in e-Career Guidance for university students in Ghana. After this, she had the opportunity to do a Certificate Program in Career Guidance with the University Of Manchester Business School. Daisy is affiliated with a number of Youth Development Organizations around the world, with whom she has worked as a volunteer in the capacity as a Mentor to young people. Daisy's recent involvement with young people was with the International Sports Coalition, where she served as a mentor to teenagers at the African Cup of Nations in Accra. When she's not busy with the full-time MEST program, Daisy plays hockey, beach volleyball and loves to travel.
Barnabas Apom
Barnabas is an Entrepreneur-in-Training (EIT) with the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology Class of 2009 and has graduated with a double major in Mathematics and Statistics from the University of Ghana. He has an innate passion for software and entrepreneurship with the vision to start an internationally successful software company in the global marketplace. He has a natural interest in people and this propels him to seek for greater advancement in life in other to be in the right position to assist the ones he loves. He comes from the Northern part of Ghana where crocodiles are as friendly as dogs. Barnabas likes listing to stories, music and discussing business ideas. Barnabas enjoys athletics and likes jogging. Barnabas joined Meltwater because he believes Meltwater’s vision is in line with his aspirations in life.
