Every year, MEST recruits trainees from among the brightest university graduates in Ghana. They come from diverse academic backgrounds, including computer science, engineering, and the social sciences. Prior training in the field of technology is not required. However, MEST Trainees must have the following qualities:

• A strong interest in software, technology and entrepreneurship
• Strong academic results though a university degree (any discipline)
• Entrepreneurial spirit, confidence and independent thinking
• Track record for meeting goals and deadlines
• Demonstrated personal drive, stamina and self motivation
• Excellent people skills
• Strong team work
• Ability to communicate candidly and persuasively
• A desire to make a difference
