DropQue to Represent Nigeria at GITEX

Dropque CEO Akinwoleola Opeyemi believes attending this event will open up new doors for the company, which is already making a stir in the recruitment software sector.

MEST Incubator company Dropque has been selected to represent  Nigerian innovation and technology alongside nine other Nigerian startups at the Gulf Information Technology Exhibition (GITEX) from October 8th-12th at the Dubai World Trade Centre. The startup’s attendance will be financed by the Nigerian government through the office of ICT Innovation and Entrepreneurship, an arm of the National Information Technology Development Agency.

GITEX is the premier annual technology event in the Middle East, Asia, and Africa. Each year the event features a trade show, exhibition, and conference. This year’s event will be themed ‘Re-Imagining Realities: Discover, Transform, Innovate’. It hosts over 140,000 visitors from nearly 100 countries, with many investors in attendance, offering the Dropque team a big opportunity for exposure and networking.

He explains, “We applied because we felt it was a unique opportunity to show a wider audience how Dropque is already creating a big impact in reducing unemployment and giving more of our youth a stronger chance at landing a good job regardless of the inherent limitations, using technology.”

Out of all the companies that applied for the coveted spots, Opeyemi considers what Dropque is offering unique. As a recruitment software that was designed specifically to cut recruitment time in half through the use of video interviews, while also having the ability to work with slow or faulty internet connections, Dropque is tackling a significant problem.

The team is also working on an AI-based approach to recruitment by looking at 10,000 data points, including historical data, a candidate’s profile, and the video responses, to determine the best candidates for the role. With this approach, Dropque will be cutting even more time out of the recruitment process.

“We are leveraging a data-driven, AI-based approach to recruitment. Precious few indigenous African companies do that in our space, and this approach is already accepted in more developed markets. Its efficiency and effectiveness is proven. We truly are building the future of African recruitment,” stated Opeyemi.
