About Start-up Weekend
Startup Weekend events are weekend-long, hands-on sessions where startup enthusiasts and aspiring entrepreneurs develop ideas and get an opportunity to validate their ideas. Last weekend (18th – 20th Nov. 2011), the 1st ever start-up weekend event in Ghana took place at the Meltwater Entrepreneurial School of Technology campus at East Legon. The event started with 13 ideas on Friday, but came down to 8 teams. On Saturday and Sunday,  teams focused on building minimum & viable prototypes, customer development, validating their ideas, market research and revenue models. Finally on Sunday evening, teams pitch their ideas, demo their prototypes and answer questions from panel of judges.
